Pattern books, whether by the furniture maker George Hepplewhite or the architect Colen Campbell, served as both a visual sourcebook of types demonstrating good design and proportions as well as a technical handbook with measurements and practical considerations. In reviving this tradition, our books will not only serve to educate students and established professionals alike, but will provide a repertory of designs to help guide in the selection of a particular.

Bauer and Dean is extremely fortunate to have an editorial panel whose collective knowledge and quality of eye exceeds the contributions of any single author. Our panel of five includes Ethel Rompilla, Michael Simon, Danielle Galland, Pepe Lopez and Michael Canter.

Then we are honored to have as our architectural consultants the incomparable Peter Pennoyer and Anne Walker who are currently reviewing the book on American doors.

These essential sourcebooks are an indispensible part of any professional's library.
